Online Quran Classes for Kids in Switzerland

What age can my child start?

From age 4. Ages 4–6 get shorter 15–20 minute play-based sessions; 7 and up typically move to 25–30 minute sessions.

We're not near Zurich, Geneva, or Basel's Muslim community — does that matter?

Not at all. Most of our families outside Switzerland's major cities book us for exactly this reason. Your child gets the same Al-Azhar-trained teacher a family in Zurich would have access to, wherever you're based.

How is the price worked out?

There's no fixed hourly rate — you choose the number of sessions per week and the length of each one, and your price is built around that choice. Sibling discounts are available, and you'll see your exact plan and price before committing to anything.

Do you have female teachers for my daughter?

Yes. We have qualified female teachers (Hafidhat with Ijazah), and many parents specifically request one for their daughters.

My child doesn't speak Arabic at home — will that be a problem?

No — it's the normal starting point for most of our students in Switzerland, whatever language is spoken at home. We teach Arabic letter sounds phonetically, so your child doesn't need to understand Arabic to learn to read the Quran.

How is Alhamd Academy different from the freelance tutor listings I've seen online?

Every teacher is Al-Azhar-certified — a graduate of the world's most established Islamic university — not an unverified freelancer charging by the hour on an open marketplace. You can ask about your teacher's specific credentials before committing to anything.

Are classes one-to-one or in a small group?

Always one-to-one — a single child per teacher per session, never a shared small group. That's what allows genuinely personalised pronunciation correction.

For children starting from scratch with no Arabic reading ability — the usual starting point for most households in Switzerland.

Foundation Level — Learning to Read Arabic

For children who can read Arabic and are ready to read directly from the Quran with proper rules.

Intermediate Level — Quran Reading with Tajweed

For children ready to begin structured Quran memorisation alongside school and weekend Quran school commitments.

Advanced Level — Hifz & Advanced Tajweed

Why Families Across Switzerland Choose Alhamd Academy

"We're in the German (or French, or Italian) part of Switzerland and don't speak Arabic at home — will our child manage?"

Yes. The Noor Al-Bayan method teaches through demonstration and repetition, not long verbal explanation, so it works the same whether your household speaks Swiss German, French, or Italian. Your child learns to recognise and read Arabic sounds directly, without needing to already understand Arabic.

"How do we know the teacher is actually qualified, not just someone charging by the hour on a freelance site?"

Every teacher at Alhamd Academy is Al-Azhar-certified — graduates of the world's most established Islamic university, not freelance tutors picked from an open marketplace where anyone can list an hourly rate. You can ask about your teacher's credentials before your free trial even begins.

"We're already careful about how much time our child spends on a screen."

A 20–30 minute live video session with a real teacher correcting your child's recitation isn't comparable to passive screen time — it's closer to a music lesson. Most parents tell us it becomes the part of the week their child actually looks forward to.

"Does scheduling work with Swiss time (CET)?"

Yes — scheduling is fully flexible and built around Central European Time, including after-school and early-evening slots across all regions. You'll agree on a weekly time that works for your family before your free trial even starts.
